BOMBS VOYAGE
BOMBS VOYAGE (Original)
A2 | Black Marker Pen on Paper
Bombs Voyage is a pivotal work in the evolution of the ELMIT series.
This is the original hand-drawn artwork that laid the foundation for the Bombs Voyage silkscreen. Drawn in black marker on A2 paper, an intricate reimagining of the helmet motif, steeped in symbolism and visual tension.
The artwork shows a soldier from the neck up, wearing a combat helmet and goggles, calmly smoking a cigar as bombs fall toward his head.
The word ELMIT is embedded within the helmet in the series’ signature bold, blocky typographic style —part tribute, part parody, both defiant and ironic.
This image functions as both standalone artwork and historical artefact.
The original black marker drawing became the master image used to create the silkscreen.
Before the screen was coated with emulsion and exposed, the artist ran a series of photocopies using different toner colours — creating a set of vibrant colour variations and preserving the original before it became part of the print process.
Each work is:
11.7 x 16.5 in / 29.7 x 42 cm
Black marker on Paper
Signed by the artist
Includes Certificate of Authenticity
Unframed
