ELMIT VII
ELMIT VII
Original Artwork | Part of the ELMIT Series
ELMIT VII is part of an original series exploring perception, slang, and identity through bold forms and symbolic layering.
In Northern slang, “elmit” (a twist on “helmet”) is a playful jab—used to describe someone a bit slow or out of sync.
This piece reclaims and reframes the term, turning it into a layered metaphor for protection, misunderstanding, and transformation.
Each artwork in the series is completely unique but created using the same process:
Hand-cut A3 Perspex sheets form the template
Layers are individually pulled through silk screen using a squeegee
The result is a vibrant, imperfect, and tactile surface where no two pieces are the same
In ELMIT VII, a bold yellow helmet shape sits against a textured pink-blue backdrop. A small golden bomb with a heart inside floats overhead—a symbol of contradiction: love within destruction, humour within critique.
This piece is as much about language as it is about image. It invites the viewer to question the labels we inherit and the ways we shield or expose ourselves in a chaotic world.
Each work is:
11.7 in x 16.5 in / A3 (29.7cm x 42cm)
Silkscreen and mixed media on heavyweight paper
Signed by the artist
Includes Certificate of Authenticity
Unframed
